Today, Ellen invited Susan Bro to tell the story of heroic daughter, Heather Heyer. Heather was tragically killed in the protests in Charlottesville, VA on August 12th, 2017. Susan talked about her daughter's mission to fight injustice and to promote equal rights for all. Heather was not only a hard worker, she had a big heart filled with love for all individuals, regardless of their race, religion and beliefs.Heather dedicated her life to fighting for what she believed in, and in her honor, her mother founded The Heather Heyer Foundation. Through the organization, Susan has established a scholarship program to provide financial assistance to individuals passionate about making positive social change.
